News Blog + Sketchbook

More sketches for you. Working on some concurrent stories, thanks to the sponsorship of some of my higher-end patrons. I thank them for helping me to keep going when there's every reason for me to stop with the hurdles I face with payment gateways, social media blacklists and piracy. And I also thank you all, my active subscribers. Almost all my works now are story-driven or at least serve to move the needle in order to complete some of these projects I've started.
Here are some highlights:
DOOMED RAIDER: This story involves a Tomb Raider vs cannibalistic Meso-American cults.
HEADHUNTERS: Another is a Kubrick/Eggers/Aster inspired story involving a strong free-spirited an independent American woman who worked as an accountant for her new bosses, a private equity firm from England that has bought over her company. This is a tale that gives the word "Corporate Headhunting" a whole different meaning! A tale of Mysterious Old World British aristocracy deep in the heart of the American Southeast.
GYMNAST: True Detective inspired tale of a college gymnast being chosen more for her popularity on social media than her skills as an athlete, to be later chosen as tribute to an unholy Mardi Gras style parade by a very displeased member of the Circle Elite who is also on the board of the Sporting Council. Set in the heart of Louisiana.
XANADU: And finally one involves Dead Malls, high heels, and a wife as a sacrifice, a tale that harkens of the nostalgia of the 80's, 90's, dead malls and the crumbling American dream.
I would love to have time to work on all of the stories I've started but I am only one person. If you'd like to see other projects pushed at the PROJECTS page which is in dire need of a new update, do leave a tip or join as an APOSTLE, TETRARCH member or higher to give these stories a bump. These and more are on my plate as I strive to finish as many stories I can in my PROJECTS page (https://forbiddenfeast.com/projects/).

I like all of this! LSU Gymnast eh?

How many years have you been drawing now and did you only get this good by doing structured exercise and tutorials or anything?
I've been doing this for 30 years plus now. And yes, I did go to school for this and have been classically trained. Lots of it is practice, learning from guidebooks. I've managed to find the exact same book I used to learn decades ago, this one by Jack Hamm. https://www.amazon.com/Drawing-Head-Figure-How-Handbook/dp/0399507914
There are a few other guidebooks in my library, I can't get with the digital copies and I'd suggest any budding artists get the physical copy. Nothing beats old school paper and ink!

Thank you, interesting I wonder what I could do. I think modern life has made me have extremely short attention span , getting organised to complete tasks should be a skill to work on next year
